Internet Basics for Beginners
Would you like to use the Internet at the library or from home, but you
don’t know how? Maybe you’re a senior citizen, or perhaps you or
someone you know just never got around to catching the “information wave”. Internet
Basics for Beginners will cover the basics of using web browser software,
simple search techniques, and how to get a free e-mail account. Sign up at the
front desk, or call the library at 972-882-0340 to reserve a place on for this
10 a.m. class, as space is limited by the number of computers in the room.
Getting More from the Internet
This is a course designed for intermediate Internet
users and covers search strategies, evaluating the quality of web sites, and
customizing your browser settings to manage cookies and offensive content. Learn
about using Boolean connectors, phrase searching, and how to use your favorite search
engine directly from the address bar.
