In November 2004, the citizens of Rockwall County voted in favor of an $11.5 million bond issue to design and construct a new library approximately 5 times the size of the old facility.  Designed by library architects from PSA-Dewberry and built by Pogue Construction, the beautiful new Rockwall County Library, opening September 8, 2008, is a focus of community life and county pride.  Highlights of the new facility include ample parking, a delightful and spacious new children's area, a teen center, an increased number of public computers, approximately 6000 new books added to the existing collection, a large community room, small meeting spaces and study rooms, a patio and balcony, a cafe area with vending machines, a Literacy Center, and a convenient drive-thru book drop. Free wireless internet access is available during library hours.
